An EXPENSIVE mistake... you tell me, what's next? - Sphinx Stationery

An EXPENSIVE mistake... you tell me, what's next?

There's no easy way to put it... the Pathfinder2e and Cypher System Journals were a MAJOR FLOP and I need your advice on which direction to go in next.

Should I continue making content for other systems, or focus on making tools for D&D?

Look, I love exploring different games and creating cool stuff for them- I even have designs for Candela Obscura and Call of Cthulhu all ready to go! But, if the market just isn't there, then I need to balance my passion with practical decisions.

I Need to Hear from You!

I have 3 big ideas brewing in my head, what sounds most interesting to you?

Other TTRPGs

Does Call of Cthulhu and Candela Journals call to you? Which systems do you want journals for?

The Everyday Collection

Journals for everyday life- a daily planner, a travel log, reading journal and project notebook.

The DM Toolbox

Very much in the idea phase, but I want to work on an all in one Ultimate Dungeon Master Tool kit.

Your feedback will help decide my next steps and make sure I'm creating things you’ll love.

Thanks for being part of this journey!

I know I would buy what would essentially be a Monster Manual that can be filled in.

For times when you a stat block for an animal that you can’t find in the published books. Or for when you find custom stat block online and you want to keep them organized.

Also the same reasoning with a book to do the same but with new playable races. Even one for new classes.

You could do them on the d20 system, Pathfinder/Starfinder, Traveller, Stars Without Number.

I can explain in further detail I confused you.

Hi! I just purchased the pdf version of the pathfinder notebook and have actually purchased noteshelf purely to use it with! I love them, they work so good so far and I hope you keep making these!

I think the pathfinder stuff might start selling better in a little bit when the 2024 version of 5e comes out.

I’ve been waiting with so much excitement for the Call of Cthulhu notebooks, and for me I think it was SUCH a breath of fresh air to find tools for systems other than DnD, I really admire that about your work!

Personally, I loved the Pathfinder notebook, though I’ve only been able to afford digital files so far. Maybe digital products can help with still making stuff for other systems?

Also, I love ALL the products you have in mind, but I think if I had to rank them from what I want more to less, it’d look like this: 1) Other systems (especially CoC) 2) Everyday stuff 3) DM tool kit (for shipping reasons; it’s harder to get physical products, so they generally need some time to save up for, otherwise I think I’d put this over the Everyday collection).

Hope this helps, and that you keep making amazing things! :)

I would love more DND items (all in for the DM toolbox) as well as an everyday journal/planner. Maybe with a goals integration?? I would kill for a “cheat sheet” type thing for each class…. Bookmarks or snap-ins for the current journals? Or even a basic rules/reminders newer players. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next!!
